CASY proudly announces its Data Intelligence and Cyber Security Training program, conducted in partnership with IBM®. |
See how i2 software helps to fight human trafficking. |
Since September, 2014, IBM, Corporate America Supports You, and Military Spouse Corporate Career Network (CASY & MSCCN) have been successfully conducting i2® Analyst’s Notebook® software training sessions, followed by a certification exam. Additionally, IBM’s Kenexa Software is being used as an assessment tool to confirm the credentials of the trainees. As a result, 90% of the trainees have attained this distinguished certification, and CASY & MSCCN is assisting the candidates with job placement.
In 2019, IBM will continue to grow this program through an additional grant to CASY & MSCCN to conduct up to 13 training sessions to enable a total of ~150 veterans to gain this certification. They will then be assisted by CASY & MSCCN with job placement, based on their newly acquired skills.
In 2019, CASY and IBM launched the QRadar course. You will learn to navigate the IBM QRadar user interface and how to investigate offences. You will search and analyze the information which QRadar concluded as suspicious activity and conduct hands-on exercises to reinforce the skills learned. The course covers system configuration, data source configuration, and remote networks and services configuration.
The courses are aimed at former and transitioning Armed Forces personnel who are looking to work within cyber security.
This is a good foundation course for anyone looking to work in a support and operations environment. We are looking for people who have a keen interest in broadening their horizons and wish to pursue a career in cyber security.
The course consists of two phases:
The last day will include a discussion around malware, a demonstration of how QRadar handles the issue plus a discussion on security. Processing for the IBM Open Badging process will also be covered.
NOTE: Due to IBM's generous grant and support, all costs for this training are waived for veterans.
CASY’s NGEN (National Guard Employment Network) and the National Guard Youth ChalleNGe program launched the first IBM “Tech” SkillsBuild Workshop on April 14 and 15 with volunteers from IBM and Academy staff. The purpose of this initiative is to address the widening tech skills gap in workforce development by matching IBM training experts with cadets in the highly successful Youth ChalleNGe program.
