DOL Military Spouse Career Connect
The DOL Military Spouse Career Connect event was held on December 5, 2019 at the Frances Perkins Building in DC. They had 92 registered participants and 15 agencies.
The event kicked off at 8 am with registration and networking, Sidney Rose (Chief Human Capital officer) Welcomed everyone and then Byan Slater (Assistant secretary for Admin Management) Introduced The Secretary, US Department of Labor Eugene Scalia. After the Secretary's remarks there was a panel and time for questions.
From 10am -12pm the resource booths were open and Milinda and I had the opportunity to interact with the attendees. We spoke with many Spouses, Veterans and other agencies. This was an incredible networking event for MSCCN and CASY!
Joint Career Fair
The Outreach team attend the Joint Career Fair on November 14th at the Spates Community Center on board Joint Base Myer- Henderson Hall. It was a great opportunity to speak with transitions service members, Veterans and spouses. Having a team attend these events is great because one can man the table and the other can work the room. We were able to share with the other organizations and companies the value of working with us and the unique services we can provide with our Recruiter Connect and Employment Specialist departments.

Veteran's Day 2019
The Outreach "Dynamic Duo" (Stacey Harris and Milinda Rau) had the opportunity to honor Veterans at the "Salute to Veterans" event in Newburg, MD. The event was held at the Veterans Museum at Patriot Park. Over 1000 Veterans and their families came out to gather resources, enjoy some delicious BBQ and listen to great live music by the Little Texas band.
Boyd Rutherford, the Lt. Governor of Maryland stopped by to visit with some of the Veterans and to thank those of us that came out to support the event. We had a wonderful time interacting with the Veterans and make some great new contacts! We also had the chance to meet an amazing "service dog" in training!
Military Spouse Employment Partner Meeting
On October 22-23, 2019 Milinda Rau attended the Military Spouse Employment Partner Meeting at the Crystal Gateway Marriot.
This is the annual MSEP Partner event that inducts new partners into the organization. It also provides an opportunity for enduring partners to discuss and share best practices and get updates on the MSEP platform. With this induction ceremony, MSEP increased their partnership directory to 420 organizations and corporations.
The Second Lady of the US, Karen Pence, spoke the Keynote address. She focused on putting your efforts into the statement of support that each partner company signs with MSEP. Take the commitment to heart because of the value of the military spouse community truly offers to the workforce.
We are currently working to leverage this partnership with Military Spouse Employment Partnership and the corporations and organizations that are partners with MSEP. As the Outreach Team, we feel that we can increase our reach to military spouses and better assist other partner organizations to promote our resources and services for employment readiness to a broader audience.
Department of Labor, Women’s Bureau Meeting, NYC
On October 17, 2019 Milinda Rau attended the Department of Labor, Women’s Bureau Meeting in New York City.
The Women’s Bureau of DOL works to improve women’s issues in the workplace through policy changes and legislative engagement. This engagement can also dramatically increase effectiveness in addressing military spouse specific issues in the workplace. The experience and length of service MSCCN brings to the conversation can be a valuable resource to the changemakers at the national level.
This meeting was the first of a series of listening groups with corporations and national level non-profit that are directly working with military spouses for employment readiness and job connections.
The Outreach Team will plan to set up a time to meet with the Women’s Bureau Acting Director Erica Wright directly as we continue to learn about how we can add to current conversations around employment for military spouses and to further the reach of our program. This relationship may also get us up to the service chief level to effect true reach to the installations and to effectively partner with the installation programs.

YOUTH CHALLENGE SUMMER CONFERENCE
On August 26th - August 29th 2019 Danette Hayes attended the Youth Challenge Summer Conference. Youth Challenge Teams, Directors and Teachers attended the Conference. This was a positive outcome for us. We connected with quit a few states that want to pursue Challenge Gateway with us - Michigan, Wisconsin, Indiana and Georgia.
NGAUS 141st GENERAL CONFERENCE & EXHIBITION
On August 26th 2019 - September 3rd 2019 Danielle Trosclair attended the NGAUS 141st General Conference & Exhibition. The Army and Air National guard officers from all 50 states, three territories and the District of Columbia gathered to connect, party and get down to business setting the NGAUS upcoming legislative agenda.

On August 23rd - August 24th 2019 Don Fried attended the American Legion Education & Employment National Committee Meeting. There were members from the DC office and 48 employment member from across the US that attended the meeting.

On August 21st 2019 Crystal McFadden attended the CASY/O2O - Program Manager Meeting in Carnegie, PA. This was a meeting between Crystal and new program manager for Pittsburgh onward to opportunity program (IVMF Product), Bart Womack. Goal is to plan partnership and coordinate future involvement for upcoming cohorts and best approach for mutually beneficial moves as well as candidates success.

IBM i2 TRAINING
On August 6th - August 8th 2019 Jamaison Pilgreen attended the IBM i2 Course NY 2019. CASY candidates enrolled into the course IBM representatives; Martin Laird, Jennifer Davis, Ari Fishkind, as well as the BMCC Assistant Director of Computer Sciences and Mohammad Azhar. I gained a better understanding of services are available to students through CASY and MSCCN due to face to face interaction via group and individual settings. There will be continued development of network with IBM, CASY and candidates. The presentation of CASY programs along with IBM program team was extremely successful.
On August 3 - 6, 2019 Danette Hayes attended the EANGUS Conference. Enlisted members of the National Guard and Senior Enlisted as well as vendors. There were alot of retirees that attended the event. John Harris presented the app that showed were our services were available.
DISTRICT SPOUSES ORIENTATION CONFERENCE
On July 29 - 31, 2019 Milinda Rau attended the District Spouses Orientation Conference, 8th MCRD in Fort Worth, TX. There were 40 Marine Corps spouses, 8 Marines from recruiting stations in the southwest region of the U.S. A variety of resources and providers from the installation were in attendance. The organizer provided an agenda of workshops and informational sessions. They included an evening for Key Notes to address and employment workshops was provided by MSCCN Outreach specialist. I was able to introduce spouses to employment resources that could be plugged into from each remote location they may be stationed at. This allows for situations where installation resources are not available. The workshop provides guidance on how to build your won tools and prepare yourself for meeting your own professional and personal goals.
LANG FP STATE WORKSHOP
On July 25 - 28, 2019 Danielle Trosclair attended the LANG FP State Workshop at the Baton Rogue Capital Center. The workshop was an annual family program state workshop briefing on NGEN and PII/ComSec.

On June 24, 2019 Debby Adkins attended the Fort Leonard Wood CASY/Swift Brief. National Guard and Reserve 88M graduates attended the briefing for CASY services. There were 150 leads of interest and the base commander accepted future briefings. I was also able to speak to future leads from spouses.

On May 14 - 16, 2019 Stacy Bayton attended the 2019 Annual Meeting & Conference (DEAM 19) will feature tracks focusing on recruitment and OFCCP compliance. Throughout the conference, attendees had the opportunity to participate in interactive panels, learn from recognized industry thought- leaders and networked with peers. On May 13, 2019 Crystal McFadden attended the Robert Morris University. She met with Marcel Minutolo. Marcel has been introduced as a military committee member around the city. This was a network opportunity to get word about CASY to another sub-group in our veteran community.

On May 9, 2019 Crystal McFadden attended the Working Mommas Workshop - VLP/CASY. VSO leaders, female veterans and VLP members attended the workshop. We collaborated between CASY/VLP to attract more female Veterans into our sphere and serve with our respective services.

On May 8, 2019 Crystal McFadden met with the KOPPERS Inc, HR team meeting. I met with the HR recruiter (Veteran USMC). We met to build rapport and discuss CASY/KOPPERS collaboration options. He is interested in our job board and hiring more veterans.

MILITARY ZOO DAY
On May 4, 2019 Crystal McFadden attended the Military Zoo Day. The Pittsburgh Zoo had a Military day with specialized activities and access for Veteran, Reserve, Guard families the entire afternoon. I was able to secure a free vendor spot for CASY and had folks sign up to win raffle and were entered for career services.

FOX'S PIZZA DEN MEETING
On May 3, 2019 Crystal McFadden attended the Fox's Pizza Den where I met with the owner of Murrysville Living Magazine & founder of Fox's Pizza Den - Jim Fox. We discussed employment opportunities for Veterans the the Pizza Den. I obtained positive franchise info for veterans. Jim's investment in veteran business ownership, family history shared that his dad was a veteran. I am the writer of his feature in Murrysville Living.
On May 1, 2019 Crystal McFadden attended the Duquesne D.I.V.E Meeting. Duquesne University rep, Pittsburgh Hires Vets Reps and Myself attended the meeting. We discussed to continue to plan student veteran engagement and service activities on campus.
CAREER FAIR GOETTEGE FIELD HOUSE - CAMP LEJEUNE, NC
On May 1, 2019 Jenna Weakley attended the Career Fair Goettege Field House Camp Lejeune, NC. There we 17 transitioning veterans who signed up to receive employment assistance services. I spoke with Chewy, North Carolina Ports, Lilly, Metris Global and Newport News Shipbuilding to go on website and partner with to provide more employment opportunities and explaining services and training to military service members.
PA SERVES FOCUS GROUP
On April 29, 2019 Crystal McFadden attended the PA Serves Focus Group. There were 15 various Veteran Community stakeholders in the meeting. This was a Social Enrichment and Employment: Focus Group with PA Serves provides. I was able to build rapport and authority and employment space was strengthened.

On April 28, 2019 Danette Hayes attended the Yellow Ribbon Event. This event was attended by 987 service members, spouses and families. There were 58 children. It's the largest troop deployment for the ILNG in 3 years. The 178 is 5 units, 90% of them will deploy. Over 400 will deploy in July 2019. We did have a lot of soldiers stop by our table to talk about opportunities when they get back and how to work on their resumes etc while they're deployed. We encouraged them to sign up on CASY and start working with an ES before they return so they can be ahead of the game when they get back.
VLP WOMEN VETERANS GROUP MEETING
On April 26, 2019 Crystal McFadden attended the VLP Women Veterans Group Meeting. The purpose of this monthly meeting was to discuss the CASY agenda and get to know new Veterans in greater Pittsburgh, I built rapport for future referrals and service needs.
SITE VISIT - OMNI WILLIAM PENN
On April 26, 2019 Crystal McFadden attended the Site Visit - Omni William Penn. There were 4 - O2O, CASY, Recruit Miltary and JCFS that attended the site visit. We met up and checked out the space for the June 5th event. I maintained strong contribution of presence and promotion in weeks leading up to the event. We were able to approve the site and move forward with promotion.
DC CHALLENGE DEMO
On April 26, 2019 Danette Hayes attended the DC Challenge Demo. I met with DC Challenge counselors, Mrs. Sally Lengyel and Chief Lengyel. I was able to discuss the implementation for the Challenge getaway DC class in December. We discussed what can help them manage their cadet job searches and provide mentoring and coaching opportunities as well.
On April 24, 2019 Crystal McFadden attended the Penn State New Kingston - Workshop. There were 25 faculty and student veterans. This workshop was to network with faculty from various campuses. We networked alongside PA Serves, on how to better serve student veterans.

On April 24 - 26, 2019 Dean Dauphinais attended the QRadar Training - Sacramento. This training was to share with Veteran job seekers the overview of CASY and how they can tap into the suite of employment services CASY offers.

On April 23, 2019 Crystal McFadden attended the Veterans Breakfast Club - Bethel Park. There were approx 110 attendees for the VBC Storytelling event. There were present and featured sponsors/supporters of VBC and a photographer. I built rapport and trust within the Veteran community.
PITT GREENSBURG - STUDENT VETERAN DISCUSSION
On April 18, 2019 Crystal McFadden attended the Pitt Greensburg - Student Veteran Discussion. 17 various stakeholders for student veterans at Pitt Greensburg. This meeting was to check in on the end of the year results and efforts for student veterans. CASY presented career readiness services available to compliment career services department on campus and why is CASY so important to be integrated into efforts. There were positive responses from attendees during and after meeting on presentation information shared and resources available to those on campus and alumni.
LINCOLN CHALLENGE ACADEMY TRAINING
On April 18, 2019 Danette Hayes and Linda Lucas attended the Lincoln Challenge Academy: Trained Cadets on Youth Challenge Gateway meeting. Cadets from LCA and counselors attended the meeting. There were 126 cadets that were trained to use Brassring and upload resumes and perform job search.
BIG TABLE - PITTSBURGH
On April 17, 2019 Crystal McFadden attended The Big Table - Pittsburgh meeting. There were 8 Pittsburgh influencers and creative thinkers in attendance. This was a city wide event, pushed my leadership Pittsburgh Inc, and locally hosted by CASY in Monroeville. The agenda was to have conversations regarding The City of Pittsburgh and community needs through an informal meal. CASY agenda- created leadership and authority presences by hosting such an event for a few people who achieved value from the connections made.
CARLOW UNIVERSITY - EDUCATION PLANNING GROUP
On April 15, 2019 Crystal McFadden attended the Carlow University- Education Planning Group. 19 individuals- Veterans, VSO Reps and Academic Reps attended this meeting. This meeting was to identify currently used, effective practices to serve student veterans and brainstorm ways that Carlow University could do this better. CASY agenda was to identify presence in this education sphere with a group that is not familiar with CASY on campus. I received valuable input, awareness that CASY presence already on campus at various institutions around the area and new contacts were made.
COHORT 2: ONWARD TO OPPORTUNITY
On April 11, 2019 Crystal McFadden attended the COHORT 2: Onward to Opportunity. 14 COHORT members, to include 2 fellow presenters attended the orientation. CASY was one of 3 featured presenters for O2O's COHORT 2 orientation. Shared resources and collected information for sign in to input those interested in for a career advisor assignment. I was able to build rapport with current candidates, created relationship with future candidates.

On April 11, 2019 Crystal McFadden attended the Bella Frutteto: Meet and Greet Lunch. I met with Robert Y and Liz H. This meeting was to met with Robert who is continued source of referrals and information was introducing myself and Liz as veteran resources and employer contacts (human services). On April 9 - 10, 2019 Renetta Stratton attended the Fort Hood College Education Fair. Transitioning soldiers, veterans and spouses attended the fair. I made contact with 1061, which was a successful event due to the number of different colleges and credentialing programs in attendance.
POST GAZETTE HIRING PITTSBURGH EVENT
On April 8, 2019 Crystal McFadden attended the Post Gazette Hiring Pittsburgh Event. This job fair had over 100 attendees. I was able to reach out to new employer contacts as possible, solidify relationships with current employer contacts and/or new reps at same company, as well as converse with any potential of new candidates.

On April 8, 2019 Crystal McFadden attended the CASY & Chamber of Commerce Meeting with the President. This meeting was to discuss the present "Vet- working" event to chamber for buy-in on use of space and dissemination to members.

On April 8th, 9th, 15th, 16th, 22nd, 23rd, 29th & 30th, 2019 Michael Hein attended the ETS Briefing for P3. Tis event was to brief all soldiers ETSing out of the Army at Fort Campbell that were active duty.
911th EDUCATION FAIR - CORAPOLIS
On April 6, 2019 Crystal McFadden attended the 911th Education Fair- Coraopolis. This was a military education/resource fair that gave CASY an open opportunity to share resources with service members on 911th reserve base during drill weekend. I made approx. 17 direct contacts and exposed CASY to an additional 80 service members.

On April 4, 2019 Renetta Stratton attended the New Beginning Career Fair. There were 400 Job seekers/ 47 signed up for CASY/MSCCN. There were multiple organozations in attendance.

PA SERVES - VETERAN OUTLOOK MEETING
On April 2, 2019 Crystal McFadden attended the PA Serves- Veteran Outlook Meeting. There were 4:1 PA serves, 3 PGH Mercy HR & CASY. This meeting was to discuss Pittsburgh Mercy hiring efforts to include and increase hiring of qualified veterans and what that looks like in partnership with CASY. I had positive Q & A session between director of HR at Pittsburgh Mercy, PA serves internal support and validation to the team, CASY answer questions to their liking and our abilities.
FORT LEONARD WOOD AIT REGISTRATION
On April 2, 2019 Patrick Clark attended the Fort Leonard Wood AIT Registration. CASY was able to registered 122 US Army National Guard and Reserve soldiers. 17 of those leads will be sent to Swift as potential truck drivers. This event was very successful!
On March 29, 2019 Crystal McFadden attended the Veterans Breakfast Club - Penn Hills. There were approx. 90 veterans, spouses, community members and veteran organization reps in attendance. This meeting was a storytelling event. CASY is a featured speaker as contributor to VBC newsletter, veteran and program manger of CASY/regular attendee. Rapport was built with group, continued new employer contacts, veterans awareness of article in newsletter ( with contact info), increased trust with other influential veterans.
SWIFT KANSAS CITY TERMINIAL AND DRIVING ACADEMY MEETING
On March 29 - 30, 2019 Patrick Clark attended the Swift Kansas City Terminal Visit. I gained a better understanding of Swift hiring shortfalls, educated on Swift capabilities and hiring needs. Gained knowledge of trucking industry gained. I built further connections with Brandon Wakefield, Swift Terminal VP.
On March 27, 2019 Crystal McFadden attended the Duquesne University Networking Workshop. There were 4 Veterans and 4 Veteran Service providers in the workshop. I created a position of authority and trust with student veterans while providing valuable knowledge on topic of networking as "Career Fair Support" unfolds.

VA MENTAL HEALTH SUMMIT
On March 25, 2019 Crystal McFadden attended the VA Medical Center Pittsburgh - Community Mental Health Summit. There were approx 75 Veteran Organizations, professionals, veterans, spouses and service organizations in attendance. We established a connection with Western, PA veteran service providers as the contact for career progression services. Positive rapport was established as well as program managers and viewpoints on career progression impacting the quality of life. By attending contacts if attendees were emailed in addition to direct organizations.
VETERANS CAREER TRANSITION ASSISTANCE PROGRAM
On March 20, 2019 Dean Dauphinais attended the Veterans Career Transition Assistance Program (VetCTAP). This event was a Veterans Transition Graduation at the National University, Ranchero Bernando.
On March 20, 2019 Crystal McFadden attended the Veterans Breakfast Club. This was a Korean War Veteran storytelling event. There were approx. 115 veterans, spouses, students, faculty and community members in attendance. Veterans from the Korean War Era shared stories. CASY was present to connect with student veterans and faculty to establish presence with Point Park Univ. as they are currently partners alongside PGH Hires Vets.
On March 20, 2019 Crystal McFadden attended the Duquesne University - Student Vet Accessibility. This was an informal time for CASY to be accessible to student veterans at the veterans and military family office & lounge on campus. We built rapport with current and made new contacts with students, vets and spouses.
RIVERS SITE VISIT
On March 19, 2019 Crystal McFadden attended the Joint Career Fair - Location Site Exploration. I met with 4 planning team members, CASY, O2O, PHV and VIQTORY. During the site visit we viewed potential space for joint career fairs. We discussed details and additional planning between group members during lunch. We identified the values, direction and character amongest team members. We determined the direction of group planning roles and resources.
WOMEN'S VETERAN RECOGNITION EVENT
On March 18, 2019 Crystal McFadden attended the Women's Appreciation Lunch - White Oak Vet Center. This event was a luncheon, there were 25 ladies on attendance. She met and networked with the ladies. They built rapport with current and potential CASY candidates, established presence in Women's Veteran Community as other women programs begin to gain footing. They reinforced their relationship with Vet center leadership as they provide a number of visibility opportunities for CASY.

On March 16, 2019 Linda Lucas attended the Yellow Ribbon Family Event. This event was for family members and service member returning from deployment.
O2O COHORT NETWORKING EVENT
On March 14, 2019 Crystal McFadden attended the Onward to Opportunity (O2O) - Cohort Graduation/Networking Event. CASY is partnered with O2O as source of career progression skills assistance as well as participant in program. The agenda was to make CASY present and fully visible and clear to those attempting another way of working with O2O. CASY was highlighted as a partner in front of group, new contacts made and additional relationships formed within the veteran community.
On March 13, 2019 Crystal McFadden attended the Duquesne Uiversity, Veteran focus group meeting at Lieberman Hall. This event was a co-facilitate focus group with student veterans alongside PGH hires Vets and DUQ UNIV career development center.
On March 12, 2019 Crystal McFadden attended the M2K Tour. The President, teachers, students and HR reps. The site visit was to obtain information and discuss a partnership regarding training and employment tracking.
HER MISSION: SERVICE PROJECT WITH THE MISSION CONTINUES
On March 9, 2019 Crystal McFadden attended the Her Mission: The Mission Continues. There were veterans organizations, community members, local veterans and company volunteers in attendance. This was a service project/veteran - community focus event. The project was an annual service project (3rd one) to focus on feamle teams for #HERMISSION with the mission continues. CASY/Crystal was a team lead for one the sub- projects (8) within the larger group (approx 100). By being a lead it allowed CASY more exposure to the group (announced our presence and role) and relationship building with team at large (other veteran organizations were also team leads) which were primarily veterans and employer partners (ascenture on my team). We showed presence in the community giving back, leadership established within the veteran community outside CASY/employment, highlighted to large group (approx 100) CASY'S presence and leadership role worked closely with a number of of ascenture volunteers which is one of well known companies in Pittsburgh Veteran SFACE.
On March 4, 2019 Crystal McFadden attended a Networking Event/Education. There were 19 other personnel in attendance. This is was Networking event and relationship building with those in this network of business building professionals as well as guest I invited in order to strengthen rapport. My guest loved the material, I was able to strengthen ties with previous connections, and then build exposure to CASY in new environment.

I was able to build rapport & new opportunities for shared increased presence with Veteran spheres.

On February 21, 2019 Patrick Clark participated in the FT. Leonard Wood Job Fair, Nutter Filed House. Patrick assisted Swift representatives in collecting 30 leads while assisting them in there hiring objectives. Future partnerships in Networking were achieved while working the Job Fair.
ROBERT MORRIS UNIV: WORKSHOP
On February 19, 2019 Crystal McFadden attended the Robert Morris University, Jefferson Hall, Skills Translation/Resume Workshop. This event was attended by RMU Veteran Students and Families, PA Serves, 7 SVA. This workshop was successful because CASY was able to build rapport with students who would not normally register for services. Student Veterans were served, presence and validity of CASY was increased and more referral organizations were brought into sphere of communication.
WORKSHOP - DUQUESNE UNIVERSITY
On February 15, 2019 Crystal McFadden attended a workshop at DUQUESNE UNIVERSITY at LIEBERMANN HALL, Duquesne University, Pittsburgh, PA. This event was attended 6 students, 1 Career Development CO- Presenter and 2 PA Service Representatives. The goal was to deliver a workshop to collect information and build relationships. The Career Development Well Being Counselor said this was the largest workshop turnout she has had all year. The event turnout was successful due to rapport building and the information that was collected.
COASTAL CAROLINA COMMUNITY COLLEGE VETERANS CAREER FAIR
On February 14, 2019 Jenna WEakley attended the Coastal Carolina Community College Veteran Career Fair. There were 75 veterans in attendance. 7 Veterans signed up for employment assistance. I focused on speaking to a group versus one on one to get more veterans seek assistance.
CLR2 JOB FAIR
On Feb 12, 2019 Jenna Weakley attended the CLR2 Job Fair. There were 4 different units with CLR2, Several Veteran Resources in NC area and Zanetta Padilla. I was able to talk to over 30 Marines and a few spouses about CASY/MSCCN services. There were 17 sign ups for employment assistance. I spoke with candidates about employment services and how we are able to assist them in finding employment. Opportunities that we offer such as T2TL, IBM, HR Internship Program. Hoe creating a job plan sets them up for success and that we are virtual and can move forward with them. EDWARD JONES MEETING
On Feb 7, 2019 Crystal McFAdden attended the Edward Jones meeting with Andrew Giambroni the Financial Advisor @ Wexford. We established Rapport. Andrew had 2 positions to share for local veteran/spouses which were placed on Pittsburgh hot job slides. He also opened up his conference room for free use at our (CASYS) request. He is willing to create financial training workshops scheduled for our local veterans/families. We were able to create multiple connection points, positive rapport, various angles to utilize CASY & Edward Jones company relationship.
On Feb 6, 2019 Crystal McFadden attended a collaboration meeting at Duquesne University with 2 members of Pittsburgh Hires Vets, 1 Representative from DUQ University Career Development and Military & Veteran Families Office and Myself/CASY. We were able to understand ones roles better, ease tension of competition through articulation of intentions & create next steps planning for student veterans through the end of March. We focused on a survey, focus group and workshop scheduled to student veterans office given in collaboration by all 3 organizations.

On February 5, 2019 Crystal McFadden attended the Leadership Pittsburgh meeting with Program Director, Marie Hamblett. In todays meeting was positive, we exchanged information, built rapport, both exchanged value knowledge and encouragement. Marie and I are both leaders in our respective programs who serve Veterans and thought it will be valuable to meet one another, understand programs more thoroughly and build trust with one another.

Quarterly Gathering of Veterans
On January 12, 2019 Wendy Layton attended the Quarterly Gathering of Veterans at Jacksonville Veterans Memorial Arena. This event was attended by over 350 people including hundreds of local veterans’ support organizations. It was the largest event to date, and it was amazing to see how many well-organized supporters are in this community. We have over 460 veteran support agencies in the area. Many of them were represented at this event including Wounded Warrior Project, O2O, Project Hero Hub, Semper Fidelis Society, Northeast Florida Women Veterans, Chaplains on Demand, Women in Defense, Aaron Bowman - City Council, Mayor Lenny Curry, Five Star Veterans Center, Florida Fallen Heroes, Gratitude America, Vets on Tap, HOH Military Spouse Professional Network, Marine Corps League - these are just a few of the offerings. It was absolutely amazing. She made contact with several people looking for employment and offered our services to them.

We are always updated on new things happening in the Jacksonville community among the supporting professionals. We were introduced to the newest Pathfinder Scout and updated on the Florida Defense Alliance and all of the other supporting programs in the greater Jacksonville community.
Assessment Technologies Group (ATG) / Pelocity Meeting
On January 10, 2019 Wendy Layton met with Emily Spencer last week who is the Director of Business Development with Assessment Technologies Group (ATG) / Pelocity. They discussed ways that Pelocity could work for our veterans and military spouses that are seeking employment. This would be an excellent way to assess the skills of the candidates we are working with so that we can help to guide them and assist them to be successful and not just find them a job.
NCServes Practice Review
On January 10, 2019 Jenna Weakly joined NCServes-Coastal community stakeholders in celebrating the 2 year anniversary of NCServes-Coastal. To date the network has served 1400+ Military connected families. During this event, they shared NCServes-Coastal's report on the Network's performance, provided an overview of their demographics and service delivery data, as well as provided recent updates and developments of the Network.

On January 9, 2019 Crystal McFadden attended the O2O PmP Cohort as a dual role, as a student and presenter. She spent time in front of the class, contributing valuable supplemental information in group, and also presenting as local resource for career progresion during and post course completion.

On January 9, 2019 Crystal McFadden presented at Robert Morris University, Center for Veteran and Military Families to discuss topics such as learning to translate skills, purposefully utilizing non verbal communication and regulating stress levels.
Bolder Advocacy Meeting
On January 9, 2019 Crystal McFadden attended the Bolder Advocacy Meeting. This meeting cosisted of 12 individuals representing various veteran interest and non-profit groups who were there to learn more about advocating for their cause without harming or overstepping boundaries of the non-profit guidelines or legal rights.
Jacksonville Military Veterans Coalition Meeting
On January 9, 2019 Wendy Layton attended the Jacksonville Military Veterans Coalition Meeting at Keiser University. This is a quarterly event that is about 2.5 hours long and hosted by Mike Fleming (ret) Florida National Guard General and attended by all of the heavy hitters in the veteran support community including senator reps and congressmen reps, Mayors office reps and many others. Usually at least 50 attendees.
Military Spouse Professional Networking Event
On January 8, 2019Stacey Harris, our Outreach Program Manager, attended a Military Spouse Professional Networking event at Green Light Coffee Shop, a Military Spouse Owned Business. This event had local Military Spouses, Representatives from Driscoll Children's Hospital, Unique HR, FFSC, Corpus Christi Museum of Science and History, Del Mar College, and First Command Financial Services. This event offered spouses a chance to network professionally, and encourage one another in their job searches.
